The Adventures of Blankie and Tootsie
Sweet Mallory has decided that she will only travel with 2 special friends in tow. Her pink blankie (pinkie?) and her Tootsie. it cracks me up because she becomes very angry when her brother tries to take either one of them. This Is our little girl, with her new haircut- immediately after getting out of bed and dragging blankie and tootsie with her in search of her daily "Nana" (Banana)

Bye Bye Pebbles, Hello Pele!
Mallory finally had her first hair cut this weekend. I was just so tired of her pulling out her pony tail so on Sunday Peyton, Marshall, and Mallory all got haircuts at the local Super Cuts. They do a great job with our kids there! We forgot our camera but had our flip video and I was able to easily pull some photos from the video (one more reason that I love the flip!). She looks SO much older now with a real hair cut, such a toddler and not my little Pebbles baby anymore.

Brother got his haircut too, we went really short since it grows so fast!
Peyton also had a weekend of firsts, his first soccer game! We signed him up for the Under 4 Boys team and were placed on a team of kids that will all go to a different school (not with Peyton) and had all played together in the Fall. Peyton has only had one practice and doesn't really know anyone so I am SO proud of him for getting out on the field. We still have a lot of work to do, as evidenced in this video (he is number 2) but we have lots of time to learn and practice. Peyton was very concerned about the mud on the fields, and the soccer ball, and his muddy shoes so hopefully we'll have better field conditions next time.
This cracks me up because he is so not interested, but he did score a goal! Too bad it was for the other team. And at least he stayed out there!

Third Trimester Chaos
This was Friday.

Just you wait little children.......I won't be this pregnant forever.
This is Monday.
Keep in mind that I am 8 1/2 months VERY pregnant.
Which is why these things keep happening.
Friday morning Peyton went "missing" in the house. I looked everywhere. I looked in every room- including the laundry room, multiple times. I could hear his little voice talking and laughing and finally I made out the words "I'm in the Big Penguin". I honestly thought he was in the walls or something because I could not find him and had seen the penguin without realizing he was in it. He had crawled inside the cover of a bean bag chair that had popped (a penguin) and laid there for quite awhile while I looked for all over for him. He was COVERED in bean bag "snow". It was and still is everywhere.
Today Mallory went into the bedroom part of the house and closed the door behind her. (means she is up to no good!) When I finally got to her I found this. I'm just going to close the door and wait for Marshall to get home to take care of this mess.

15 Months Old

Sweet Mallory is now 15 months old. She is in the 20th percentile of weight, 50th of height, and 60th of head size. She is saying new words every week but my favorites these days include"tootsie", "eyton" or "baba" for Peyton (Brother), and to hear her quack like a duck. She babbles and points all day long, loves to "shake her bootie", and give real kisses "Mah!" She loves to sit in little chairs, dig through my jewelry box, splash in water, eat snacks, and play with her brother. Her current best trick is to show anyone and everyone her dimple. She points to one of her cheeks and flashes you a dimply grin. When I picked her up from MOPS last week her teachers told me that she just kept showing them her dimple :) Such a cutie. Here are some pictures of our precious baby girl- a Momma's dream come true!

Mallory Ann Yates- we love everything about you!

Iced In
(Front yard)
The first week of February 2011 = lots of quality time together. It has been icing, snowing, and below freezing all week long and with school being cancelled and our car stuck in our garage we've barely left the house.
Mallory had a horrible high fever virus all weekend and Monday so we were already going a little crazy when the bad weather rolled in. By Tuesday morning the temperatures were in the teens with ice covering all of Dallas, and our driveway, which meant we weren't going anywhere. Last night it also snowed so now we are covered in snow and ice. This means that the Mom (me) has had Peyton, Mallory, the dogs, and new baby in belly STUCK in the house all week long. No school, no playdates, no Target trips, no fresh air. Just lots of together time. Thankfully Bebe could drive her car and sprung us for a playdate at her house on Wednesday, this helped break up the week. I will be honest and say this has not been my finest week as a mother, nor has it been their shining moments as children! We are ready for some sunshine so that we can all shine again. Here is some insight into what we have been doing this week:
Lots of time in the playroom:
Sitting on chairs.
Being Really Bored.
Going a little "BATTY"- Boredom brings on Destruction. (seriously, no matter where we hide this bat she manages to find it and loves it)
Might as well put them to work! Peyton vacuuming up dog hair, another fun thing from the dogs being inside all week. He is really good at it.
Way too much TV= TV Coma.
And I will let Peyton briefly tell you what went down at the breakfast table one morning.
So that is a little glimpse into our week together. Notice we wore pajamas for most of it. Today Daddy is home from work so that will help so much- he and Peyton are out sledding in the neighborhood (it is still snowing) which allowed me to write this blog post. Dad took the train into work this week since we couldn't get the car out- such a hard worker. We are so glad to have him home today, did I already mention that? It is worth mentioning again!
